Arman Sangalang is a saxophonist, composer, and educator originally from the west suburbs of Chicago. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work with musicians such as Reggie Thomas, Matt Ulery, Greg Ward, and Walter Smith III among others. In 2020, Arman received his bachelors in Jazz Studies from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music and most recently finished his master’s at Northern Illinois University in May 2022, where he held a graduate assistant-ship. Through the JIC Jazz Links Fellowship, Arman aims to learn about the deep musical traditions in Chicago and develop his voice as an artist.
