Hittin’ the Jug: A Tribute to Gene Ammons

One of the fathers of the Chicago Sound,  Ammons was called “the soul of Chicago tenor saxophony”.  He continues to inspire tenor players including those playing tribute: Ari Brown, Eric Schneider, John Brumbach and John Foster.  They are joined by Miguel de La Cerna on piano, Marlene Rosenberg on bass,  Robert Shy on drums and special guest, vocalist Lila Ammons.
