Today, June 3rd, is the birthday of the uber-talented Corey Wilkes. A native Chicagoan and a Jazz Institute board member,  Mr.  Wilkes has spread his wings participated in a variety of projects ranging from jazz to hip-hop. He made history playing with Art Ensemble of Chicago and before joining in 2003 after a successful West Coast tour. Today he performs at the Museum of Contemporary Art with the Corey Wilkes Quintet and then... heads up jazz fans...he releases his official debut CD on June 17, entitled 'DROP IT.'  Toast!
