I recently learned that my first cousin twice removed, Jack Terman, owned and operated Club Silhouette, a popular jazz venue on Howard Street during the 1930's-50(?). Evidently, Jack's wife, Ida, ran card games in the back room. Some of the musicians that played there were: Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Dizzie Gillespie, Georgie Auld's group (with Tiny Kahn, Frank Rosolino, Max Bennet) Sarah Vaughan, etc.
The club was located on Howard Street in Chicago.
I am very interested in learning as much as possible about this place. I also am searching for pictures of the club, memorabilia, and/or my late cousin Jack.
Any information--including suggestions about where else I should inquire--are very uch appreciated.
Best,
Jennifer Terman
