Jazz Masters Residency Program
Where classrooms become creative labs — led by Chicago’s finest.
This eight-session residency brings Chicago’s top jazz artists into CPS classrooms, creating hands-on opportunities for students in grades 4–12 to explore jazz through live mentorship, creativity, and collaboration. Music instructors also receive professional development and access to a featured concert at the University of Chicago’s Logan Center for the Arts, with free bus transportation and limited complimentary tickets to the Jazz at the Logan Series.
Residencies are offered free of charge to selected CPS schools, thanks to generous support from our partners. Program themes include jazz band intensives, vocal jazz, Latin jazz, improvisation, creative music, and more, giving schools the flexibility to choose what best supports their ensemble.
