Chicago has a history of producing some of the finest players in the lower register of jazz, the bassists. We've been blessed with a wealth of bass masters in Chicago, such as Wilbur Ware, Milt Hinton, Fred Hopkins and Malachi Favors, the first three of whom were also products of Captain Dyett's musical program. Present day master Larry Gray, talks about his personal history as a Chicago bassist and the legacy he comes from.
Joining Gray and Harrison Bankhead will be Avreeayl Ra on drums, Art Hoyle on trumpet and Edward Wilkerson on reeds. This one is sure to shake the rafters, so don't miss it.
