The Village Tavern has been in continuous operation
since 1849. This family-owned restaurant, in classic road house
style, has been a favorite “watering hole” for generations.
A spacious dining room and antique bar area preserve the establishment’s
rustic authenticity. Especially popular is the massive 35-foot mahogany
bar, which survived Chicago’s “Great McCormick Place Fire”
in the 1960’s. The warm and friendly “pub” atmosphere
of this classic restaurant attracts locals and tourists alike.
A full menu, with many daily specials, is available for lunch and dinner
six days a week. The Tavern’s famous 1/2 lb. Black Angus Beef hamburger
is one of the most favorite lunch & dinner choices topped with anything
from onion rings to sautéed portabella mushrooms.
Diners also flock to the Tavern’s popular Wednesday night “all-you-can-eat”
broasted chicken along with the Friday night “all-you-can-eat” freshly-breaded
fish fry. Saturday night “Prime Rib” is second to none!
The Village Tavern also features live entertainment. Visit our
Website for a music schedule.
Whether it’s for a burger or a banquet, no trip to Long Grove is complete
without a stop at the Village Tavern. Proprietors Chip and Mary Ann Ullrich
invite you to join them at the Tavern to celebrate their 46th year with
great food, bountiful drinks, interesting people, and a warm welcome.
