Located in the Carleton off the main lobby is Philander’s Restaurant,
offering you the finest American and Continental cuisine in the area.
Philander’s offers a fine dining atmosphere showcasing excellent
seasonal cuisine with fresh seafood and prime aged steaks. Its warm
décor has been recently revitalized along with the menu to offer
a Wine Spectator "Award of Excellence" premium
wine list, quality service and elegant surroundings.

The restaurant was named after the Village historian Philander Barclay
who lived in Oak Park from 1878 to 1940. The walls are decorated with
his photographs depicting the glory days of Oak Park. The restaurant
has an elegant turn of the century décor, showcasing a grand
oak and marble octagonal jazz bar and upscale
lounge. The restaurant also highlights live jazz entertainment, an
outdoor café in
the summer, and bar menu.

The restaurant is open every day, excluding certain holidays. (Dining
room – 5pm – 10pm, Bar – 4pm -12am, Sunday through Thursday. Friday and
Saturday the dining room closes at 11:30pm and the bar at 1:30am)

and Special Events
Philander’s offers live entertainment in its upscale bar and lounge
area, highlighting a diverse selection of
Chicago artists. Monday – Thursday the music is from 7:30pm to
11:00pm, Friday and Saturday evenings from
8:00pm to 12:00am, and Sunday from 7:00pm to 9:30pm. Philander’s
Lounge and Bar is an intimate place to relax
with friends and enjoy music.

The Barclay room with its wine cellar atmosphere can be rented for
private parties. Also Philander's offers quarterly wine dinners featuring
wine and food matchings from different wineries. Call Philander’s
